Spring Fling and Team Building Rally

Young Seven One:

Are you ready to be built up even more to accomplish the Great Commission? We're finally coming to our long-awaited TeamBuilding Rally, where we are going to fling into some training prior to our D-Day youth invasion of Morgan Hill. Please mark your calendars for May 28th (1:00-5:00PM) and June 11. Cost is $5 per youth.

As mentioned on this website (posted March 14th), you must come out to the teambuilding rally if you want to participate in our next two outreaches: the Morgan Hill "Here We Come Lord" Outreach and the Young Seven One Outreach at Spirit West Coast. The whole point of the rally is to build our teams prior to these outreaches. The rally fliers should have reached your churches by now.

I can't tell you how excited I am about these two outreaches. I have been in contact with our very own Pastor Sanchez coordinating the Morgan Hill outreach (permits, locations etc.). He and his people are just as excited and know exactly where they need us. I have also been in contact with the awesome evangelistic coordinators for Spirit West Coast. I have been told that their staff is eagerly awaiting our help. They also wanted me to relay an urgent request for Prayer and Fasting for Sunday lunches from now until the end of SWC. This time of seeking God will go to cover the Del Mar Spirit West Coast event AND the one in Monterey.

There will be much to talk about at the rally concerning these two upcoming events. There will also be some high-powered fun (we got some good ideas for our rally from District Winter Camp), good fellowship, some exciting news about new ministries coming to the Section and some sharing about the vision of Young Seven One.

All of this is the culmination of much prayer and the fruition of God's promises. The Lord first started speaking to Martha and me about evangelism, missions and team building for Salinas Section Youth back in October 2004. We had hoped to do the same back when we first started in youth ministry in Arizona, but God had other plans. Since then, He has opened up huge doors of opportunities. One of the biggest has been Salinas Section Youth Ministries. To get a better idea of where we are going you can check out the flier that we passed out at the Refrigerio/Revival (it's got all the dates and a vision statement).

But more importantly than reading about it, come out to the Rally and see it for yourself.

Here's a tentative list of what to expect:
Praise and Worship for Evangelism
Drama & Puppet Outreach
Campus and Foreign Missions
Prayer and Deliverance Tent Ministry
Blogging and e-vangelism
Team Building Fun!!!

This is our first youth rally in over a year. Salinas Section Youth Ministries has emerged from its cocoon and is drying its newly painted wings. We are about ready to fly over enemy territory and drop the airborne. We will become a Band of Brothers and Sisters and we will achieve victory!

Bro D

P.S. Thanks to Pastor Dan for all the teambuilding activities at Winter Camp (e.g., "Cheeto Head"). I never knew how much shaving cream, raw fish, cheetos, and dirty socks would inspire me. We hope to get him out here real soon to speak at one of our events.
