Highlights from Greenfield Tour Stop

Praise God, His Holy Spirit has been busy at Templo Emanuel. The last time we visited the youth there back in December of 03, the youth group consisted of a core group of fired-up leaders in training. When we visited this time last Tuesday, the church was near full capacity with youth seeking after God with all their HMS (heart, mind, and strength). It's amazing what vision, training and dedication can do in a year!

We were able to kick our shoes off and just praise God at the top of our souls in absolute freedom. The presence and anointing of God was so strong that it made it "easy" to flow in ministry. Bro Izzy, Sister Suzie, and Bro Jonathan did an awesome opening drama that set the theme for that night. As they ministered to the sound of Switchfoot's "Dare You To Move," it brought back memories of Winter Camp in the chow hall and an impromptu drama for Speed the Light.

After this, we challenged the Greenfield youth to memorize a simple prayer that could save a life. The prayer is called "Repeat After Me." It is the prayer that we have used to train our children at Faith, Hope, and Love Center in Hollister. It includes the ABC's of Salvation, which are "Admit," "Believe," "Confess," and "Commit." To give the young people some motivation, I called my 6-year old son Danny Boy up to the front and asked him to recite it by memory. On a side note, Danny Boy memorized the prayer on his own in a few minutes with absolutely no pressure from me. It took me about 18 years before I got it down right. Here is how it goes:

Repeat After Me

Jesus,

I Admit I am a sinner

I Believe that you died for my sins

I Confess my sins and ask you to forgive me

I Commit my life to you now as my Lord, Amen.

Not to be outdone, after a few minutes one by one a motivated T.E. young evangelist got up in front of the huge group and led them to the Lord using "Repeat After Me." It was awesome to see young people learning a simple method that could result in the miracle of salvation. Now, when they are pressed for the right words, they can easily revert back to a simple, self-contained prayer of Salvation that begins with the words "Repeat After Me." Everything I needed to know about life, I learned in Sunday School, no doubt!

Then it was time for some anointed puppets to minister. "Uncle Tony" who played Bernie the Funeral Home Director and "Danny" (no relation) who played Lazarus ministered in a small skit about how hard it is for a formerly dead person to get a refund. The puppet skit really gave a good lead-in to that night's message. It is a message to an army of young people in the Salinas Section that is about to be resurrected.

A Terracotta Soldier

I told the story of how Chinese peasants had unearthed an amazing archeological discovery in the Xi'an Province of China back in 1974. As they dug through ancient walls of dirt and clay they found eyes frozen in time staring back at them. Eyes belonging to soldier statues made of terracotta clay. The more they dug, the more they found, until finally over 8,000 statues of a sleeping army of infantrymen, calvary, and officers were discovered in perfect ranks stationary as if ready to march at a moment's notice.

Standing By

This army had been buried by the Emperor Qin who had desperately tried to unite the warring factions and provinces of China over 2000 years ago. This is about the time that Jesus was beginning His ministry and mobilizing another sleeping army that would one day awaken at the Day of Pentecost and shake the world upside down.

The Lord led me to share Ezekiel's call to the Valley of Dry Bones, where he prophesied to the dry and seemingly dead remnant of the House of Israel. A people that would one day resurrect and enter into their inheritance as a mighty army! Powerful man.

Young People of the Salinas Section, are you ready for a revolution? Are you ready to rise up and march around the four corners of our world in last day revival? The potential of our army of soul-winners, disciple-builders, and missionary-senders is so huge it's beyond all of our imaginations. If one can put 1,000 demons to flight and two can put 10,000 packing their bags, just think of what we can do together as a Section as a Movement of young people. Just imagine with me if we join forces and unite just as the Emperor Qin tried all his life to do for his beloved China. He wasn't a man of God, but he was a man of vision and passion, and he was a man on a mission. His army of sleeping soldiers was the embodiment of his greatest dreams for his people. A people united.

An Army that's Rousing

In His last hours on the earth, Christ cried out to God that His children would be as one as He and the Father are one. The heart of God is that we wake up from our slumber like the apostles at Gesthamane and join Him in prayer and in action and be as one in this Great Commission.

Just say the word!

That time is now. And as surely as the Lord lives, He is pouring out His Spirit right now and issuing the orders for this army to get up and move!

Youth of the Salinas Section: join with us in our last day push, in this end-time all out war for the souls of mankind in our geographic area, on our doorstep to the world! Ya es tiempo, la lucha nuestra! La causa! A Revolution. Once you get the taste of winning souls, you'll never lose it. You'll live for it. There's no adrenaline-pumping rush like it. Come on, I dare you to...

Move in Jesus' name!

Singles Convention 2005

Ever since our young adults returned from convention, I have been getting a flood of praise reports and testimonies of what God did at Singles Convention. "A Single Cause" was a big hit with the young adults that went from Section Young7One and a homerun for the Kingdom of God. My words don't do justice to what God did for our people, so I'll let those who went share their own first hand accounts. Here they are in their own words*

Young Seven One Now On Tour!

Blessings all in the name of Jesus (Je-sus you know!)

What can we say??? but that we are pumped up about what God has in store for the youth of the Salinas Section. God has appointed us a full measure of new wine for such a time as this. All we have to do is give Him our new wine skins so that He can do the new thing that He wants to do in us in this year of His favor.

What do I mean by all of this? Well, Sectional Youth Ministries is going to be different than anything that you have ever seen before. We are going to be going where no Sectional youth ministry has ever gone before---to your city streets and parks and not just to wash cars, toss the hackey sack, and barbecue carne asada. We are going to where the greatest treasure of souls awaits. How are we going to do it? Our name says it all, AS ONE. What's in store for us? I'm glad I asked. This is what the Young Seven One Section Connection Tour* is all about.

Actually, we have been offering hints along the way from the start as to what God has shown us only in prayerful vision. From the outside Uth booth at Refrigerio, which attracted non-church-goers to hear our worship and Gospel Spots, to the Backyard Party, which also attracted the attention of the lovely military people of La Mesa Village, and to even this blogsite, which is on the cutting edge of a whole new era of electronic evangelism that is gaining momentum. We're doing a new thing. God is doing a new thing. And we are both doing it in perfect harmony with where the Spirit is saying to "Go!"

The Section Connection Tour offers an even better glimpse of what we'll be doing. You'll definitely get a taste for what's up ahead. You'll see aspects of the drama, music, puppet, multimedia, and evangelistic/motivational ministry that God is calling us to take to the lost who are not planning on coming to our churches anytime soon. Ok, fine, we'll take our churches to them. The tour will also offer Sister Martha, our staff and I the chance to share with you our vision and just what it means when we say "we are here to support you."

Gilroy is on fi-ya!

We kicked off the tour in Gilroy at their Monday Night youth service on March 21st. Gilroy is on fire people! We had an awesome time of fellowship, worship, ministry, and learning a key aspect of discipleship "how to be a servant."

Brother Danny demonstrates where to find the greatest leaders in the Kingdom of God, on the ground serving others and washing their feet

We challenged their youth to invite 5 unsaved friends to youth group for a special "Friend's Day" service specifically designed for them. By the way, this is what we have planned for all of your unsaved friends for August 20th here on the beautiful beaches of the Monterey Peninsula (Carmel or Monterey). We want your youth groups to grow and we are here to help you, motivate you and offer you ideas and opportunities to do just that. Where are we going to send the young people that we bring to the Lord in your city? That's right, TO YOUR YOUTH GROUP!

We are now taking applications for a Youth Revival Movement that is starting off at the "grass roots" level. Are you interested? We will not force this vision on any one, but I encourage you to jump in now before the ship takes off. Funny thing, God literally prevented Martha and I from jumping onboard another ship that would have transferred us to Chile, all within one week's time. He also said to us over and over again in a word of wisdom "You Must Stay" in my question to Him as to whether we should transfer out early. He also promised signs and wonders would follow. And then this happened, Salinas Section Youth Ministries. What does God have in store? For we know in part and we prophecy in part, but all I can tell you is that I have had to buy a whole new set of wine skins. My old ones were getting too worn and comfortable to wear.

This Tuesday Night, The Young Seven One Section Connection will be touring in Greenfield at Templo Emanuel. We can't wait to hook up with you all at T.E.! Jesus Freaks 4-eva.

*I was inspired by the Northern California and Nevada District Youth's Program that brings whole sections together called "Section Connection." What's in a name? Everything! Thank you DYD Bret Allen, you have no idea how much your online resources have sharpened me!
